What led you to F3, and how did your first post challenge you or inspire you in unexpected ways? and how did you get your F3 nickname?
I was EHed by an F3 HIM, Woz. My first post was a Ruck. I always considered myself to be a 2nd F and 3rd F kinda guy. F3 pushes me to go harder into the First F. F3 has given me opportunities to care for men, be a friend, and has helped me individually in my own sad-clown mess. I got my F3 nickname from (an almost complexly disregarded) hobby of mine, reloading ammunition.
What impact has F3 had on your life, and what lessons or moments stand out as defining your journey?
F3 has had a great impact on my life and my son’s life (Wolverine). Some of the big moments include participating in CSAUPS, attending Convergences, setting up an F3-adjacent workout company (American Ruck), 2F events, celebrating marriages, having F3 PAX come to watch me preach for the very first few times, and grieving with brothers. Additionally, the group has fostered friendships that extend beyond F3.
What’s been the hardest challenge you’ve faced—either in life or in F3—and what did it teach you about perseverance?
Marriage is hard; living far from my parents is hard; raising a son to be a strong man is hard; my deployment was hard; and my educational endeavors are hard. For all these challenges, I rely on my Father in heaven, who cares for me. God gives me strength and sends other strong men to me, both in the church and in F3, who guide, instruct, support, and help me. I appreciate all the PAX of F3 and believe in their strength and their love for one another.
What else would you like to share about Primer to the PAX that maybe most of us don't know?
You might not know some interesting things about me. In 2017, the Lord Jesus Christ saved me from many dark places. A few years later, a church connection (Woz) recommended a F3 to me. Any thoughts I have mentally, any spiritual gifts, any strength or fitness I possess, or anything I own is because of the love of Jesus Christ, and all glory belongs to Him.
I am optimistic and love people. I assume everyone likes me (even you, reader). I met my wife while working overnight air freight at UPS in Illinois, where I’m from, many years ago. I am a U.S. Army veteran; my job was a tanker on the M1A2 battle tank. I had one deployment (without the tank). Okay, enough about me. I’m glad I know all of you and want to get to know even more of you.
